“Sales Training”

Role

Genres

The Hyundai Sales Training Web App platform (play main video) is a tool designed to educate and certify all Hyundai Sales professionals, from sales associates to dealership owners. This platform is used daily by associates to familiarize themselves with current vehicle models (and trim levels), certify for services offered throughout the organization, take exams, and stay informed about the Hyundai organization’s activities.

Over a period of several months, I collaborated with Hyundai leadership from each department to understand the limitations of the old platform, gather their basic platform needs, and compile a list of desired features. This information was then consolidated into requirements and a product roadmap was presented to all stakeholders for feedback. Once the plan was agreed upon, I led a multidisciplinary team to deliver the Minimum Viable Product (MVP).

I collected user stories, created schedules, and set milestones to produce the final product. The platform’s two main components are a custom Content Management System (CMS) and a web app that uses React, GraphQL & Next.js.

One of the initial challenges I faced with this project was understanding the existing issues with the old platform and devising a release cycle that would meet the needs of each department. To gain a clear understanding, I conducted interviews, held meetings, and analyzed legacy usage data. I am pleased to report that during its first weekend online, the platform successfully served 31,000 employees without any issues and functioned as intended.
